Dallas Cowboys fans rejoice: Dan Quinn is staying in the Lone Star State.

Quinn was regarded as a top candidate for teams in search of a new head coach. After interviewing with the Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, Quinn has informed each team he will remain with the Cowboys, according to NFL Network.

Quinn was the Cardinals top option, but his goal is to bring a Lombardi Trophy back to Dallas, per Tom Pelissero.

Quinn was hired as the Cowboys defensive coordinator in 2021, and he’s proven to be one of the best at his job in the previous two seasons. Last year, Dallas’ defense allowed 21 points per game, the seventh-best mark in football. The Cowboys improved on that mark in 2022, allowing 20 points per game, ranking fifth.

Here’s what Mike McCarthy told the media regarding Quinn’s decision to stay in Dallas:

“We’re all extremely excited to have Dan back. Had a chance to visit with him a short while ago. This is big for us. Gives us continuity. Definitely what we’ve accomplished the last two years, building off that. Frankly, on a personal note, I can’t tell you how thankful I am.”
